Fully Trustless and automatic nBTC minting Is Here: Testnet v2 Goes Live

The wait is over. Today, we hit a milestone we’ve been working relentlessly towards.

Our first testnet was a blast, showing us the incredible demand for native Bitcoin in the Sui ecosystem with over 15 million transactions. It proved the "what if." Today, we’re showing you the "how."

Native Testnet v2 is officially live, and with it, the core of our protocol is now active: you can mint nBTC on Sui directly from a Bitcoin environment.

We’ve essentially opened the first lane of a secure highway between the two most exciting ecosystems in crypto. This is powered by our SPV proofs, the technology that ensures every transaction is verified and secure without needing a centralized middleman.

Our Goal: Security Above All Else

Before you jump in, we want to be completely transparent about the purpose of this testnet. Our focus is 100% on security, stability, and perfecting the minting flow. We're not chasing high transaction counts or user numbers this time around.

Instead, we're calling on the builders, the security researchers, the bug hunters, and our most dedicated community members to help us battle-test this solution. Try to break it. Find its flaws. Your goal is to help us make the mainnet version absolutely bulletproof.

Please Note: There are NO token rewards or airdrops for general participation in Testnet v2. This phase is purely for those who are genuinely interested in the technology and want to contribute to the security and success of Native. We're looking for true believers and collaborators.

For Those Ready to Look Under the Hood: The How-To Guide

If you're ready to get your hands dirty and be one of the first to mint nBTC, here’s how you get set up.

Part 2: Get Your Sui Wallet Ready

You will need a supported Sui wallet to receive the minted nBTC.

  • Install a Sui Wallet:  Make sure you have one of our supported Sui wallets installed (e.g., Sui Wallet, Suiet Wallet, etc.).
  • Ensure it's on Testnet: Make sure your wallet is connected to the "Sui Testnet" network.
  • Alternatively you can just manually paste your Sui Wallet address instead of letting it autofill with your connected one.

Part 3: Get Your Devnet BTC

We're handling BTC distribution manually for this test.
